Kokoro #009 - CloudsThis is actually my friend Joe Lipka at the edge of this lake near the top of Boulder Mountain in Utah. I knew I wanted to make a panorama, but I thought it might be fun to make a very large print as a gift to Joe.
I quickly set up my tripod, leveled the camera as quickly as I could, and then exposed six landscape orientation frames overlapping each other by about a third. It was done quickly and even crudely, but Photoshop was able to stitch it together to make a 62 megapixel (13,104 pixels wide by 4789 pixels tall = 62,755,056 pixels) panorama that will print 4-feet long. Sometimes we make a photograph purely for the fun of it! I'm as surprised as anyone that I found a use for this one beyond just playing around. Maybe I should "play around" more often!
