Thank you, Wright Morris, for showing me the beauty of this scene. There is no question I would not have photographed these spoons had I not known of Morris' great image made decades before me.
I love photography, and one of the reasons I do is because of what the previous generations of photographers have contributed to enrich my life. They teach us to see. How do we repay them, if not by honoring their legacy by carrying it forward in our turn?
